James May Return Tonight Against Suns
Lebron James talked to media after the Cleveland Caviler‘s practice yesterday and said he may return to the lineup tonight against the Phonenix Suns.
James has missed a career-high nine games this season due to what is described as strains in his knee and lower back. It has caused critics to say that many superstars, mainly James but also the Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose, are collecting multimillion dollars a year to spend much of the season on the bench when they should and could be playing.
Most of the criticism of this nature has been leveled at James as of late because the Cavs are losing.
Cleveland is currently ranked No. 5 in the Eastern Conference and have lost five consecutive games. They are currently tittering on the brink of a losing record at .500. Over their last ten games they have lost 8 games. Without James, they have been limited to an average of 89.4 points a game and 39.7 percent on shooting.
The Cavs latest lost came at the hand of the lowly Sacramento Kings on Sunday. Kevin Love had 25 points, while Kyrie Irving had 21 points, but no one else stepped up to account for the absence of James.
Much of the team’s woes have been pinned on first-year NBA coach David Blatt who has all the tools but just cannot seem to make it work with many pointing to his lack of NBA coach experience hurting the team.
A James return could give the Cavs an injection of adrenaline that they desperately need to begin pulling themselves out of this slump.
Many betting sites have not posted odds for this matchup yet perhaps waiting to see if James will be returning. However, it is expected to a “game-time decision” on the part of James and the Cavs’ medical staff, if James will be on the court.
