Jay Cutler wants to play for Texans, who aren’t interested
Apparently, Jay Cutler really wants to play for the Houston Texans. He’s been bandied about as an option for the team since the Chicago Bears moved on from the veteran. That can now pretty much be thrown out the window after Houston FL Draft for Clemson product Deshaun Watson.
We now have some more information regarding Cutler and the reported interest Houston had in him.
There is no interest.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport appeared on NFL Network’s coverage of the draft to report that the Texans in fact wouldn’t return calls from Cutler or his representatives, clearly indicating that the Texans themselves are not interest in the struggling veteran signal caller.
Cutler has no intention to retire, but it appears that his options are dwindling at a rapid clip. With three teams moving up for a quarterback in the first round of this year’s draft, that’s magnified even further.
