Jets’ Geno Smith Sucker-Punched By Teammate, Out 6-10 Weeks With Broken Jaw
In case you were wondering, there is still nothing sadder in the world than being a fan of the chronically embattled New York Jets. Maybe that’s because, no matter how bad things get, somehow they always manage to out-Jet themselves.
That’s exactly what happened on Tuesday, when quarterback Geno Smith, who was drafted No. 39 overall in 2013, was sucker-punched by linebacker Ikemefuna Enemkpali in the locker room.
Media on-hand at training camp were quick to tweet out the details:
Holy Moly: Geno smith got sucker punched in locker room this morning. Broken jaw. Out 6-10 weeks at least.

No surprise that first-year coach Todd Bowles is less than pleased with the situation as it stands. And it’s safe to say that will continue to be the case throughout the duration of his employment in New York.
Todd Bowles called it childish on part of IK, who hit Geno and was released

Let this be a lesson to Enemkpali about self-control. If everyone that wanted to punch Geno Smith did so, there’d be none of him left and a 70 percent unemployment rate among Jets fans.
Let's just say Todd Bowles is one unhappy man.

Dude…save yourself! Get out now, while you still have some dignity!

Bowles declined to give specifics of Geno Smith/IK Enemkpali dispute. Called it "very childish" something "6th graders" could have settled.

Geno Smith is out 6-10 weeks with broken jaw, per Todd Bowles. "sucker-punched" by LB IK Enemkpali this morning in locker room. IK released

The good news here is that Smith sucks anyway and probably won’t be missed much, at least by fans. The bad news is that all the other Jets quarterbacks suck too.
