John Harbaugh Says Ravens Will Be In Good Shape For Season

Despite expressing concern last week, coach John Harbaugh says the Baltimore Ravens will be prepared for the upcoming 2020 season.

Upon first learning of the coronavirus safety protocols, John Harbaugh described it as “humanly impossible” to train and play properly.

He has since voiced a more optimistic opinion, saying that he ‘won’t run scared’ from the challenges of the pandemic.

“We have probably the best building in the league,” Harbaugh said.

“We have plenty of space, a lot of meeting room space, we have a huge locker room, a huge weight room, lots of room to spread out into. We’re going to be in as good of shape as any other team in the league with what we do.”

The world, and sport, is at something of a tipping point with the coronavirus. Some countries have had success in suppressing the virus and have begun to re-open. However, it could go either way and the threat of a second wave looms.

In the NFL, there have been some recent positive tests. Two players from Tampa Bay and three team personnel have tested positive, it was reported last weekend. As well as that, players from the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans have also tested positive.

“I think everybody is going to do their best. It’s a new world,” said Harbaugh. “

You can look at it any way you want to look at it, but I’m not going to run for cover and I don’t think the NFL is either.”

“But they’re going to try to be safe and secure, and safety is going to come first. The health of all of us involved and the fans is going to be a major priority. And we’ll go from there. Nobody knows what’s going to happen in the next six months. No human being knows that. So we’ll just have to be very adaptable, flexible and smart about what we do, and that’s what we’re going to try to do.”
