Jose Canseco Gets Unverified on Twitter, Fan Reaction Predictably Hilarious

In his typically clownish fashion, former MLB slugger Jose Canseco has once again made headlines for his Twitter shenanigans. Only it has nothing to do with the nonsense bombs Canseco is known for throwing on the regular.

This time though, it seems, Twitter itself threw the first bomb:

At this point it’s unclear why Canseco lost his verified status and/or if he will be able to get it back. According to the Twitter, the only way to lose verified status (aside from changing @username or protecting Tweets, neither of which Canseco has done) is to violate the Twitter Rules or Terms of Service.

They also note that “previously verified accounts may not be eligible to have their badges restored.” Poor Jose. This is bad news who needs constant attention and validation from the interwebs at large.

Not that the Twitterverse spent much time mourning for or commiserating with Canseco’s loss. Users were reliably quick to mock the Juiced author.
