Justin Herbert: ‘It’s All About Execution’

Entering his third year, quarterback Justin Herbert has called for more consistency from the Los Angeles Chargers next season.

Justin Herbet has done his part in proving himself as a franchise quarterback. In 2021, he passed for 5,014 yards, which was the second most in the NFL. As well as that, he was third for passing touchdowns with 38.

That makes Justin Herbet the first quarterback to have more than 30 TD passes in his first two seasons.

The Chargers began 2021 4-1 but lost three of it’s final four games, missing the postseason as a result.

The front office responded with the offseason recruitment of Khalil Mack, J.C Jackson, Kyle Van Noy and Zion Johnson. Those reinforcements ought to improve a defense which ranked 23rd in yards allowed and 29th in points conceded.

However, as Justin Herbert points out, they need to put it all together on the field.

“It’s all about consistency,” he said. “We have to put together a full season for us to play the football that we want to.”

“We’ve definitely added some guys on defense, picked up a few guys on offense, and had a great offseason so far,” he said. “And as soon as the season comes, we understand it’s all about execution and being sharp week in and week out, never looking ahead and making sure we’re doing everything we can to give ourselves a shot on Sundays.”
