Kentucky No.1 In Nation And In Futures

The Kentucky Wildcats recently rose to the top of the AP Top 25 Poll, while simultaneously rising to the top of the NCAA basketball championship future odds.

The Wildcats sitting on top is about the only thing the current top 25 college basketball teams in the nation list has in common with the current futures. The Wildcats are winning basketball games but have shown some weakness from behind the arc, which means we could see them fall in the futures and poll in the near future.

No. 2-ranked Maryland has +1600 odds according to Bovada to go all the way, which is well outside of the top 5 future odds. Despite being ranked No. 2 many consider Maryland untested. They will face a big test against North Carolina (No.9 in the nation, third in the future odds) this Tuesday.

No. 3-ranked Michigan State sits in the No. 2 spot of the futures with +900 odds. The Spartans can thank the outstanding play of Denzel Valentine for their rise to the top of both the national poll and the future odds. If he continues playing at that high of a level (he has two triple-doubles already this season) Michigan State odds will likely be justified.
