Lamar Jackson Going From Strength to Strength

Eventually, NFL teams will figure out a way to stop Lamar Jackson. If they don’t do it soon, the Baltimore Ravens are going to the Super Bowl.

Last season, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said they wanted to revolutionize the quarterback position. With Lamar Jackson’s ball-running playstyle, it’s a promise they’re delivering on.

Lamar Jackson stepped up yet another gear in Baltimore’s 49 – 13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. One play in particular was absolutely breathtaking.

Jackson took the snap, and faked a pass to running back Mark Ingram II. He then took off, leaving Carlos Dunlap, Jessie Bates III, and Nick Vigil in his wake.

The play culminated in a 47-yard touchdown that showcased everything that’s beautiful about the current Ravens project. With Jackson in such fine form, the Baltimore offense is nigh unstoppable.

With 15 of 17 passes for 223 yards, he had a perfect passer rating against the Bengals. He also had three passing touchdowns and led the Ravens in rushing with 65 yards on seven carries, and a rushing touchdown.

In doing so, he became the 6th player in NFL history to have a perfect passer ratings in multiple games. The last player to do this in a single season was Ben Roethlisberger back in 2007.

On the back off Jackson’s form, the Ravens have won five straight games. As well as that, they are averaging 33 + points per game this season.

For Jackson, continuing to reap the rewards for playing the quarterback position so differently is enough to prove his doubters wrong.

“I just got to do what I have to do to make it possible, and that’s to win the Super Bowl. When it comes, the doubters gon’ still be there so it really don’t matter. Like I said before, I’m on my way to my goal. My team’s with me. Just got to keep proving them wrong.”
