Lamar Jackson named Ravens starter for third straight week
Just as the playoff race is heating up in the AFC North, the Baltimore Ravens will once again turn to rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson Sunday against the reeling Atlanta Falcons.
The #Ravens plan to start Lamar Jackson against the #Falcons this Sunday, sources say. Joe Flacco (hip) has not been cleared as of now. There’s a chance that could change in the coming days but right now, Jackson remains the starter.

Starting quarterback Joe Flacco (hip) still hasn’t been cleared after missing the past two games. Even if he were healthy, there’s a good chance that Baltimore would have went with Jackson anyway.

The former Heisman winner has won both of his first two NFL starts. He has lead Baltimore to north of 500 combined rushing yards in the process. This mini winning streak enabled Baltimore to get back in the AFC Playoff picture after losing four of its previous five with Flacco under center.
For his part, Jackson has put up 522 total yards en route to leading the Ravens to an average of 29 points per game in his starts.
Should Jackson continue to excel against a struggling Falcons defense on Sunday, the end of Joe Flacco’s tenure in Baltimore could be on the horizon.
