Latest Reported Deal On Eagles Landing Mariota Is Most Ludicrous Yet

It’s the morning of the NFL Draft, one of the most anticipated days on any sports fan’s calendar. And with it comes a dangerous mixture of hype and hysteria that threatens to send even the most level headed fan to an early grave.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, the latest draft rumour surrounds, once again, Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles, whose apparent quest to land Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota knows no end. Except that this time, Philly’s pursuit of the number two overall pick would require giving up so much that there can be absolutely no chance of it actually coming together.

A recent tweet by 97.5 The Fanatic suggests a package deal of “two firsts, future second round, [Fletcher] Cox, [Mychal] Kendricks and Vinny Curry is the latest package to be in the deal.”

Make no mistake, Chip Kelly is a man that knows what he wants, but he is no fool. To blindly assume that Kelly would willingly pull the trigger of losing Kendricks and Curry, two young linebackers with an incredibly high ceiling, and Cox, one of the most versatile and impactful 3-4 defensive linemen in the game, is just too absurd a notion to entertain.
