LeBron James Bounces Back to Overpower Raptors

A rejuvenated LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 128 – 110 win over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night.

After admitting to struggling at the start of the second round, LeBron James tried everything to get back into shape.

To recoup from the 7-game series against the Indiana Pacers, he spent his time before Game 2 sleeping and recovering.

Reportedly, he was asleep by 10.pm during the Utah Jazz – Houston Rockets game on Wednesday night. LeBron James also also availed of cupping therapy, which NBA players increasingly rely on to get through the playoffs. James Harden and Russell Westbrook have already used it this postseason in an effort to sustain the gruelling schedule.

It paid off in a big way, as James finished the night with 43 points and 14 assists. It was a vital turnaround from a player whose legs were cramping up the previous Sunday.

It was the 4th time that he has scored 40 points this postseason, which is equal to his career best. Outlining his enduring quality, the last time he had four 40-point playoff games was all the way back in 2009.

James, along with Kevin Love, dominated the Raptors to take a 2 – 0 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Kevin Love had his best game of the 2018 postseason, notching 31 points and 11 rebounds. Perhaps he was inspired by James, of whom Love fully expected an outstanding performance.

“This morning, you could just sense it,” he said. “He knew what was at stake. He knew us getting another one at their place was going to be huge for us, and he came out and played that way from the jump tonight. Like I said, you could just sense that he was going to have a special night.”
