LeBron James Talks Difference Between He And Kevin Durant ‘Changing Teams’
The Golden State Warriors are one win away from lifting another championship banner in the rafters of Oracle Arena. Superstar Kevin Durant led his Warriors to a furious comeback against LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the NBA Finals and now appears to be on the verge of winning his first NBA title.
After falling to Durant’s Warriors in Game 3, LeBron talked to the media, and he doesn’t see a comparison between him leaving for Miami and Durant joining Golden State, via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:
“I don’t think that our careers are the same as far as changing teams,” James said. “Their team was already kind of put together, and you just implement a guy that’s ready to sacrifice, a great talent, a guy that’s willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win. But that team, they knew what they were about. He just had to come in and just do what he had to do. And that’s what he been doing.”
Durant’s addition to the Warriors has been exactly what they needed to be an unstoppable force in the NBA. As LeBron points out, Golden State was already a serious force to be reckoned with, but Durant puts them over the top and for quite a possibly a long time to come.
On Friday, an NBA title will be on the line for the Warriors. LeBron will be playing in yet another elimination game in the NBA Finals with Golden State currently ready to close out the series in Cleveland in Game 4.
The Cavaliers will hope to extend the series back to the Bay Area for Game 5 while avoiding the embarrassment of being swept on their home floor.
