LeBron James Weds Longtime Love Savannah Brinson

King James finally put a ring on it.

Nobody can accuse these two of hurrying down the aisle! Over the weekend Heat superstar LeBron James and high school sweetheart Savannah Brinson, who have been engaged since January 2012, finally made it official.

The pair exchanged vowels in front of friends and family, including the couple’s two young sons, at a swanky San Diego resort. A guest at the wedding told the AP it was a “first-class affair,” and the ceremony was described as “short and sweet.”

Precautions were taken to ensure information wasn’t leaked via social media. The event was locked down by a small army of security and all guests were required to hand over their cellphones prior to the ceremony, ceding possession of them until after the reception.

Among those in attendance were teammates and others within the Heat organization, including: Chris Bosh and his wife Adrienne, Dwyane Wade and his girlfriend actress Gabrielle Union, and Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra.

Considering James’ high profile and the 21-month engagement, it’s surprising the couple was able to keep the details under wraps to such a degree. But the painstaking measures taken to protect their privacy—like having vendors convene at an offsite location three miles away—certainly paid off.

By and large they were able to enjoy their day without dealing with the prying eye of the tabloid media breathing down their necks. The Kardashian family could sure learn a lesson or two from LeBron and Savannah.
