Mets And Reds End Series Today
The New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds are ending their series against each other with a game that will pit two fairly new pitchers against each other with Steven Matz (Mets) and Josh Smith (Reds) only have three MLB starts between them. Matz will be making h is MLB debut, while Smith has three games on the mound.
Matz’s debut is highly anticipated. He had a 2.19 ERA in 14 starts in the Minors. Matz was recently added to make New York’s six-man rotation complete. The hope is he can help New York capture the magic they had at the start of the season.
Smith in his MLB debut walked six batters which is nearly half of what he did in the minor over 74 starts. Smith said it was first-game jitters that got to him. He is expected to be more relaxed on the mound later today.
It is also worth noting that the Reds will have have Billy Hamilton and Eugenio Suarez back in the lineup after both received days off Saturday.
The Mets are the favorites to win this one. They have a -145 moneyline. To bet on the Reds, the moneyline is set at +125. The total is set at 7.5 runs.
