Duke, the No. 1 seed in the East Region, is officially eliminated from the 2019 NCAA Tournament, as the Blue Devils have been knocked out by Michigan State.
Tom Izzo’s No. 2-seeded Spartans pulled off the upset in the East Regional final, advancing to the Final Four.

This was just Izzo’s second victory over Coach K. He was 1-11 against the Duke head coach heading into the game.
Duke was arguably the most talented team in the country this season, but the Blue Devils had some flaws (a lack of 3-point shooting the biggest) and Michigan State just felt like the better-built team.
The NCAA Tournament’s Final Four is now:
- Michigan State
- Texas Tech
- Virginia
- Auburn
The NCAA Tournament’s Final Four will be played on Saturday night.
