Milwaukee Bucks Have Best Odds to Reach the Postseason

The Milwaukee Bucks top the list with the best odds to reach the playoffs in the 2019-20 NBA regular season, Milwaukee is -5000 to play in the postseason. At the opposite end of the list the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies have the longest odds of playing in the postseason.

Following the Bucks on the futures board for making the postseason are the Philadelphia 76ers at -4000, Los Angeles Clippers at -2500, Utah Jazz at -1600, and Houston Rockets at -1400 to round out the top five best odds.

The second five include the Denver Nuggets at -1200, Los Angeles Lakers at -1200, Boston Celtics at -1000, Indiana Pacers at -900, and the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors at -400.

Despite several of the NBA’s top stars changing teams during the current offseason, the postseason picture in each of the conferences remains similar to that of last season. All but two of the 16 teams to play in last season’s playoffs are favored to reach the postseason again in 2020. Just the Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder are underdogs to make the postseason this season out of the field of 16 from last season.

Golden State is expected to return to the postseason but have much more tempered odds that in the previous four years. Last season for example, the Warriors were a huge -20000 favorite to reach the playoffs.

However, this season the Warriors no longer have Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson is expected to sit out the majority of the season recovering from knee surgery.
