NBA Free Agency: DeAndre Jordan To Visit With Lakers, Bucks, Mavs And Knicks
The Los Angeles Clippers came one win shy of reaching the Western Conference Finals this past season with Chris Paul and company firing on all cylinders in the postseason, but falling apart against the Houston Rockets when it matter most.
With the Clippers on the losing end of yet another playoff series, there’s been a lot of debate and speculation about the future of the franchise. Center DeAndre Jordan came into his own last season and is looking to capitalize on his success with a sizable payday in NBA free agency this summer.
Jordan will visit with four different teams when free agency gets underway next week, according to Broderick Turner of the L.A. Times:
The officials said four teams will visit Jordan at home — the Clippers, Lakers, Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks.
There’s been a lot of talk about the relationship between Jordan and superstar teammate Chris Paul since team was bounced by the Rockets in the playoffs recently. Rumors of a rift between the two players has started to circulate leading some to believe Jordan will be headed elsewhere this summer. Turner also confirmed this rift as being legitimate in his report:
The season ended with Rivers denying reports Jordan and Chris Paul had a beef with each other.
But other NBA officials not authorized to speak publicly on the matter said there indeed is a rift between Jordan and Paul.
Although the rift between Jordan and Paul may be very real, the consensus continues to be that the up-and-coming center isn’t going anywhere in free agency. The Dallas Mavericks are considered the biggest threat as of right now, but the Clippers can offer more than any team in the running for his services.
