6-time NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire joining Ice Cube’s BIG3 League

After a successful first season, Ice Cube’s BIG3 League is returning for a second season. It may be sticking around for the foreseeable future.

The first season made an impression on retired NBA players. The BIG3 has also drawn some big-name players this year that want to keep playing basketball. The latest notable addition to Cube’s league is former Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks star, Amar’e Stoudemire.

According to ESPN’s Ian Begley, Stoudemire has agreed to join the BIG3 and will join forces with two other prominent players from the National Basketball Association.

Six-time NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire has joined the Big3 League.

Stoudemire will serve as a captain of the Tri-State team, alongside Jermaine O’Neal and Nate Robinson.

Futures

During his prime with the Suns and Knicks, Stoudemire was a force to be reckoned with. He even received some consideration for NBA MVP in a few of his best seasons. In 14 years, Stoudemire averaged 18.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 53.7 percent from the floor.

Needless to say, the BIG3 League has gotten another player that can draw crowds for their second season. Stoudemire joins the likes of other notable additions like Robinson, Baron Davis, Ron Artest, Carlos Boozer, Glen Davis, and Drew Gooden.

As for the odds of winning the BIG3 championship, Tri-State has almost certainly improved their chances with a solid core built around O’Neal, Robinson, and Stoudemire.
