76ers star Ben Simmons reacts of James Harden trade rumors
The Houston Rockets and superstar James Harden seem destined to part ways at this point with the Philadelphia 76ers potentially being the most likely destination for the one-time NBA MVP.
If a trade does come to fruition for the Rockets, the one star Houston may get in return is Ben Simmons. Although the trade rumors continue to circulate with Simmons’ name getting added into the mix recently, the 24-year-old still has his eyes on the prize in Philadelphia, via NBC Sports’ Noah Levick.
“No, I come in every day, take it a day at a time, and am ready to work,†Simmons said. “I’m with my teammates. Every day I wake up and have a Sixers uniform on, I represent the Sixers. So my mentality never changes. I’m here to win a championship; that goal’s never going to change. I know things are always going to be said in the media and rumors and things like that, but my goal is to come in every day and get better, and help the team I’m on win a championship.â€
With the Rockets being a mess of a franchise since the start of this exodus that involves Harden and the recently traded Russell Westbrook, Houston will likely want to get a deal done as soon as possible.
However, Harden’s value continues to decline with all the speculation about him being a bad teammate and a superstar that must be treated a certain way. The 76ers may not want to deal with all that Harden brings to the table, especially if it means sending Simmons to Houston.
