76ers superstar Joel Embiid claims there’s ‘no doubt’ he’s NBA MVP
The 2020-21 NBA season is coming down the final stretch, with the playoffs set to get underway next month. With only a handful of games left for each team in the league, the NBA MVP debate is heating up with Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid right in the mix with Nikola Jokic and Stephen Curry.
Curry recently said that he believes he has to be the MVP this season, and he’s got a strong case. However Embiid believes there’s no doubt he’s the league’s most valuable player this season. He said as much to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

76ers star Joel Embiid sits down with @Stadium: “There’s no doubt (I’m MVP). I’ve been dominant all season. I’m not going to stop.” On motivation from feeling disrespected and frustrated last season, Shaq’s criticism “opened my eyes to actually realize that I can be that guy.” pic.twitter.com/Ud3O2APOkV

Embiid has a strong case compared to Jokic, who is currently the favorite, and Curry. Although, the 76ers center has missed considerable time this season due to injury. He may have been the clear favorite had he not gone down with a knee injury.

It’ll be interesting to see how the narrative changes in the coming weeks. It does seem like a three-man race at this point, with Jokic on top and Embiid and Curry looking to prove their worth as the regular season comes to a close and the playoffs get underway.
In 41 games this season, Joel Embiid averaged 30.0 points, 11.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 51.3 percent from the floor and 37.5 percent from beyond the three-point line. Sold numbers for a center, not to mention the 76ers are sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 39-20.
