Bucks officially eliminated from playoff contention

The 2025-26 NBA season has been forgettable, to say the least, for the Milwaukee Bucks, who have gone from a perennial title contender during the Giannis Antetokounmpo era to a team that can’t even make the NBA playoffs.

As a result of a blowout loss to Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, the Bucks have officially been eliminated from playoff contention, virtually ending their season on a sour note, via ESPN.

The Milwaukee Bucks were officially eliminated from playoff contention with a 127-95 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, ending the second-longest active playoff streak in the league.

With the season essentially over for the Bucks, the attention turns to Antetokounmpo’s immediate future with the team, as the relationship between the two-time NBA MVP and the front office has not been pretty as of late and could result in a blockbuster trade during the summer.

All signs seem to point to a divorce between the veteran big man and the Bucks organization, as the team will get no shortage of interest in their face of the franchise if they decide to put him back on the open market during the offseason.

There will no doubt be teams lining up with their best trade offers in an attempt to land Antetokounmpo, as he could be the missing piece to the championship puzzle for many teams around the league.

A few potential suitors include the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers,  to name a few, who have been linked to the one-time NBA champion.
