Bulls Visit Bobcats in Southeast Action on Saturday

Charlotte's woes have translated from the basketball court to the betting book, as the Bobcats struggle to cover the spread this season.

Bobcats come off a huge loss at New York to face the Bulls

The Chicago Bulls visit the Charlotte Bobcats in NBA Southeast Division action on Saturday. Other games involving the Southeast include the Atlanta Hawks at the Milwaukee Bucks and the Washington Wizards at the Utah Jazz.

The Bulls vs Bobcats match-up is always in interesting one since the greatest player ever to don a Bulls uniform runs the Bobcats now. Wouldn’t we all like to know what goes on inside the head of Michael Jordan when there tow teams get together? Can he really root against the Bulls, a team he won six World Championships for? That has to be a bit difficult.

Both teams come in off losses the night before. The Bobcats were humiliated by the New York Knicks 125-96 while giving up a Madison Square Garden record 62 points to Carmelo Anthony. What was even more embarrassing is he had 56 of those by the end of the third quarter.

The Bulls were beaten at home on National TV when they lost 112-95 to the Los Angeles Clippers who are still without Chris Paul. Then again, the Bulls have no reason to feel sympathy for them since they’ve been without their own superstar point guard, Derrick Rose, for most of the last two years.

In the NBA there is no time to feel sorry for yourself because there is always another game coming up soon. This could be a blessing. Not only that but this game is also important in the Eastern Conference playoff race as neither team is out of it in the weak East. The Bulls currently occupy the fifth spot in the East at 21-21 while the Bobcats are eighth at 19-26. they have a lot of teams nipping at their heels though so they can ill afford another loss. The Detroit Pistons trail them by one game while the Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers are two back.

The Bulls are in a tie with the Wizards at 21-21 for the fifth spot. Both teams are only a game behind the Hawks and Atlantic Division leading Toronto Raptors for the third spot. The Raptors would be guaranteed a top four seed as a division champion but passing the Hawks would be a great idea for the Bulls and Wizards so they too could get home court in the first round.

Bookmaker has the odds on these games:

Chicago at Charlotte- The Bulls are -1.5 -110 ATS and the Bobcats are +1.5 -110 ATS. Over/under is 181 with over and under both -110. We will go with the Bobcats+1.5 -110 tonight for no particular reason other than they are at home. We will also take the under-110 since it’s the second night of a back to back for both teams. Offense should be sluggish.

Atlanta at Milwaukee- The Hawks are -3 -110 and the Bucks are +3 -110 ATS. O/U  is 195 with over under -110. We will take the Hawks -3 -110 even though they are awful on the road. The Bucks are awful everywhere. We also like the over -110.

Washington at Utah- The Wizards-Jazz game currently is off.
