Cavs working on trading star center Andre Drummond

The rumor mill in the NBA is starting to heat up. Plenty of teams around the league are considering making moves ahead of the trade deadline on March 25. The Cavs are among those teams as they are looking to trade star center, Andre Drummond.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Cavs and Drummond are on the same page concerning the star’s future as they will sit him for games until they have agreed to a deal with another team.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are no longer planning to play Andre Drummond as they work to trade the two-time All-Star center before the NBA’s March 25 deadline, sources told ESPN.

Although the Cavs are on the verge of parting ways with Drummond, the veteran center is still playing at a very high level and will likely receive considerable interest, whether on the trade market or after potentially getting bought out if a deal can’t be made.

So far, the Cavs haven’t had any serious conversations with teams about a Drummond trade, via ESPN.

Cleveland is starting to gauge the trade market, but there are no serious ongoing discussions with any team, sources told ESPN.

Despite the lack of strong interest right now, Drummond’s numbers speak for themselves. The 27-year-old is averaging 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game while shooting 47.4 percent from the floor. He’s also getting it done defensively with 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.
