Draymond Green Calls Out Russell Westbrook For ‘Acting’ While Waiting For NBA Verdict
After thriving in the underdog role against the San Antonio Spurs in the second round of the NBA playoffs, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been able to keep their foot on the gas while giving the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors their toughest challenge yet. Russell Westbrook has been a major part of their success and now he’s trading blows with Draymond Green in the media.
In Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, the Thunder wiped the floor with the defending champions to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Along with a crushing defeat, Golden State facing a potentially difficult situation heading into Game 4 in Oklahoma City. Due to an incident with Steven Adams, Green may be suspended for the next game in this series.
Westbrook believes Green’s kick to the groin of Adams in Game 3 was intentional meriting a suspension from the league. Green thinks otherwise and had some interesting comments for Westbrook, via Ben Bolch of the L.A. Times:
Draymond Green: "Russell said I did it on purpose but he's a part of the superstar group that started all this acting in the NBA."

As expected, the NBA is taking its time to decide whether Green deserves to be suspended for Game 4. The series is essentially on the line in this game in Oklahoma City with the Thunder in complete control moving forward. Westbrook and company were already able to steal a game in Oakland and could have the Warriors facing elimination in Game 5 back at Oracle Arena if able to win Game 4 with Green serving a suspension.
There will be a lot riding on the league’s decision as it will be crucial to the Warriors’ title hopes. Stephen Curry and company already have their back against the wall losing two of the first three games of the series, but losing Game 4 would be devastating for the defending NBA champions.
