Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Future Takes Dramatic Turn Following Major Bucks Update

After months of speculation, the Milwaukee Bucks are finally pulling the band off by officially opening the trade market for star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks are now willing to listen to trade calls and offers for the two-time league MVP, who is expected to have a busy market for his services.

Milwaukee is expected to keep a high asking price in any deal for Antetokounmpo, eyeing a young, promising talent and a plethora of draft picks.

Team co-owner Jimmy Haslam has voiced that the team will figure things out before the draft on June 23 and 24.

“Sometime over the next six or seven weeks we’ll decide whether Giannis is going to sign a max contract and stay with us or he’s going to play somewhere else,” Haslam told reporters Wednesday during a news conference introducing Taylor Jenkins as the Bucks’ new coach via ESPN. “And [general manager] Jon [Horst] and Taylor, along with [co-owner] Wes [Edens] and myself, will make that call, and we understand the gravity of that call.”

The trade market for Antetokounmpo will be robust and is likely to include the likes of the Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks. The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics have also been linked as a possible destination.
