Heat Passes Tough Road Test at Boston
The Miami Heat‘s win streak continues, but not after quite a scare form the Boston Celtics on Monday night. Jeff Green went off on the Heat for 43 points as the Celtics led for most of the game. But the Heat battled back late in the fourth quarter led by Lebron James who hit the game winner with 10.5 seconds to play to give Miami a 105-103 win, their 23rd straight. The Heat is now 10 games shy of the longest win streak in NBA history set by the 1972 Los Angeles Lakers. James led the Heat with 37 points as they came back from a 31-19 first quarter deficit and a 82-78 end of the third quarter Boston lead.
The Heat now has ten games left to try and catch the Lakers record streak. Those will be against:
Cleveland Cavaliers at Cleveland on 3/20. They should win that game as the Cavs are 22-45.
Detroit Pistons at home on 3/22. Another sub-500 team they should easily beat.
Charlotte Bobcats at home on 3/24. the schedule is really working out here.
Orlando Magic on the road on 3/25. Watch out here. The Magic plays the Heat tough. You may want to take the Magic ATS this night.
Chicago Bulls on the road on 3/27. Will Derrick Rose come back before this one?
New Orleans Hornets on the road on 3/29. Heat should get this.
San Antonio Spurs on the road on 3/31. If the streak gets this far, the Spurs may be the one to stop it. If not, this is 30 in a row.
New York Knicks at home on 4/2. If the Knicks get some players back by then, this could be a tough one coming off the Spurs game.
Charlotte Bobcats on the road on 4/5. This will be Charlotte’s second chance to stop the streak if it is still going.
Philadelphia 76ers at home on 4/6. Mark your calendars because this is for the tie if they do not stumble before this one.
The potential record breaker is Tuesday, April 9th at home vs the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks are no soft touch so this could be a lot of fun that night.
The Heat has the sports books so sure that they will win the NBA Championship that right now JustBet has them at +110 to win it all. Compare this to the San Antonio Spurs who lead the west. They Spurs are +500. The Oklahoma City Thunder is +230. If I were going to place a bet at this point, the Memphis Grizzlies at +2900 seem like the best team with the best odds.
We are hoping to see some prop bets soon on whether or not the Heat breaks the record on the streak. If those come out we will keep you posted.
