James Harden skips 76ers Media Day with desire to be traded

As expected, former NBA MVP James Harden was not in attendance during Media Day for the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim Bontemps.

In what’s expected to be a continuing push for a trade, Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden isn’t attending the team’s media day Monday.

Harden has been waiting to be traded by the team for months now. He made it clear that he wants out after opting into the final year of his deal with the team. According to reports, he hopes to be dealt to his hometown Los Angeles Clippers.

Harden wants a trade to the LA Clippers. Although the two teams have talked recently, there’s been no traction on a deal, sources told ESPN.

Harden’s desire is to play alongside Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Russell Westbrook in Los Angeles. In spite of this, it doesn’t appear that it will happen at this point in time. The same thing happened with Damian Lillard and his desire to play for the Miami Heat. He was ultimately sent to the Milwaukee Bucks as a result, which might be a better situation for him anyway.

Only time will tell what will happen with this situation as it appears to be getting uglier with the more time that passes without a deal. The Clippers seem to be out of the running for the time being. Although that stance could change in the coming weeks.

However, if that stance doesn’t change, the 76ers will have to start talking with other teams, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of interest around the league, as Harden lacks loyalty and may be on the downside of his career.
