Kawhi Leonard will give the Raptors the last meeting in free agency

In the days leading up to the start of the free agency period on Sunday, there has been plenty of talk about what could unfold regarding reigning NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard.

He is set to hit the free agent market for the first time in his career with a chance to choose where he will play the next chapter of his career. With that in mind, the Toronto Raptors will reportedly get the final meeting with him, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Free agent Kawhi Leonard is expected to allow the Toronto Raptors to make the final presentation among the teams meeting with him in Los Angeles next week, league sources tell ESPN.

In his first campaign with the team, he helped take them to heights that they have never been before by reaching the NBA Finals for the first time and winning their first NBA title. Leonard has developed a strong rapport with the franchise in his brief time there with his teammates and medical staff.

The Raptors are believed to have a serious chance to retain him, but the likes of both teams in Los Angeles with the Lakers and Clippers each appearing to be serious contenders to lure him away. It’s no secret that he has a desire to play in his hometown while both LA teams present unique and appealing cases for him to join them.

Although holding the final meeting with Leonard could be brushed off, it does allow them to get the final word with the star forward before he makes his decision.
