Kevin Durant appears to be very open to playing for the Celtics

Over the last few months, the Brooklyn Nets have dealt with star forward Kevin Durant’s unwavering trade demand.

The Nets have remained firm in their high-asking price, which has led to little to no movement on the trade talk front. However, the Boston Celtics sit as a possible landing spot for the two-time NBA Finals MVP. According to Ian Begley of SNY.TV, Durant holds a strong desire to play for the Celtics.

“Durant sees Boston as a desired landing spot, per people familiar with the matter,” Begley wrote. “Durant also would like to play with Boston’s Marcus Smart if he is traded to the Celtics, per people familiar with the matter. It is unknown if Boston and Brooklyn have made progress on a deal. SNY reported last week that there had been pessimism about a Durant trade being completed in the near future.”

The Celtics have offered star guard Jaylen Brown in trade talks, but that hasn’t moved the needle enough toward serious discussions. Instead, the Nets have shown no urgency to move their star forward.

Meanwhile, Durant recently voiced to team owner Joe Tsai to choose between him or head coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks.

Tsai and Nets’ management is unlikely to budge at those hefty demands. All that only further complicates the situation that Durant wants, ending with him playing in another uniform.

With training camp set to begin next month, the Nets may finally pick up the pace to resolve the lingering matter that has clouded the franchise’s future.
