Kevin Durant trade to Spurs a ‘done’ deal?
One of the biggest names expected to be on the NBA trade market this summer is none other than future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns. The veteran superstar appears to be on his way out of Phoenix, and speculation is brewing that the San Antonio Spurs could be his next destination.
It seems like a foregone conclusion that Durant will be traded at some point during the NBA offseason, but the destination remains to be seen. However, Bill Simmons of The Ringer believes the trade from the Suns to the Spurs may already be done in principle via the New York Post.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if KD to the Spurs is done already and they just haven’t announced it,” Simmons said on Monday’s episode of his self-titled podcast. “Like they’ve agreed on the specifics and they’ll just announce it the week of the draft.”
Durant landing with the Spurs would be a great move for the storied NBA franchise, as it would team him with rising superstar Victor Wembanyama and star point guard De’Aaron Fox. There’s also a chance Chris Paul returns to San Antonio for one more season.

Another trade option for Durant is the Houston Rockets, who will likely be in the running for Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. Antetokounmpo will be the big fish on the trade market, followed by Durant.
Only time will tell where Durant and Antetokounmpo land this summer, but if they are both traded, the NBA landscape could look much different to start the 2025-26 campaign.
