The Knicks are the most aggressive trade suitor for Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton, sources said. Sexton is eligible for his rookie extension this offseason, and with one year left on his deal, it allows Cleveland to continue to be patient in constructing the roster.

The latest update comes after it was revealed the Cavaliers would explore moving Sexton and Kevin Love this upcoming offseason. The Alabama product is coming off his most productive campaign. He averaged a career-best 24.3 points on a career-high 47.5% shooting from the floor and 37.1% from 3-point range.

Sexton has developed into one of the league’s top young scoring guards. He could provide a stable offensive punch for any team. The Knicks would immediately play him alongside All-Star forward Julius Randle.

As the offseason nears closer, the Knicks will keep a close eye on the situation in Cleveland.
