Kyle Lowry: ‘LeBron’s Probably One Of The Best Players In The League Besides Steph’
The Toronto Raptors have officially gone further in the NBA playoffs than ever before. Kyle Lowry and company have reached the Eastern Conference Finals after taking care of the Miami Heat in seven games, and now they face an incredibly difficult mountain to climb in the form of LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With the Raptors now advancing to the East Finals, Lowry, arguably the Raptors best all-around player, was asked about taking on LeBron. Lowry took somewhat of a subtle shot at the four-time NBA MVP by saying he might still be one of the best players in the league other than reigning MVP Stephen Curry, via Dan Feldman of Pro Basketball Talk:
“LeBron’s probably one of the best players in the league besides Steph.”
One thing LeBron doesn’t need at this point is more motivation heading into the East Finals. James has taken a back seat to Curry over the past two years with many believing he has been kicked off the NBA throne by the Golden State Warriors point guard.
LeBron has also taken subtle shots at Curry and the Warriors over the course of this season with the narrative changing regarding who is the best players in the league and which team is the team to beat in the NBA.
Although Lowry has already stoked the fire with this comment about LeBron, the consensus heading into the East Finals is that the Raptors don’t stand much of a chance against the Cavaliers. Toronto has 10/1 odds to come out on top in this series against LeBron’s squad, via Sportsbook.ag.
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals gets underway on Tuesday with the Raptors on the road against the Cavaliers. Cleveland is heavily favored with -11 point spread coming into this matchup.
