Kyle Lowry reportedly telling people Raptors will trade him

The Toronto Raptors aren’t the dominant force it once was. This season, things have gone bad and as a result a rebuilding process could be on the horizon. The first player sent packing as part of this process could be veteran guard Kyle Lowry.

Apparently, the Raptors could be on the verge of making moves of the NBA trade deadline on March 25. Lowry could be among the prominent players traded in the NBA and he seems to know a deal is coming, according to Ryen Russillo of The Ringer.

“The word on that one is that Lowry has been telling everybody for over a month that he is getting traded.”

The one destination that has been linked to Lowry over the last few weeks has been the Philadelphia 76ers. Lowry is from Philadelphia and played for Villanova during his college days. It would be a hometown hero situation for him and it could be the ideal addition for the 76ers.

Lowry isn’t getting any younger at 35. Although the veteran point guard is still playing at a high level for the Raptors even in a down season for the franchise.

He’s currently averaging 18.0 points, 7.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. Meanwhile, he’s shooting 40.3 percent from beyond the arc. Solid numbers for a veteran guard that is only hoping to win another title before he calls it a career, which might not be for another five years.
