Lakers rookie Bronny James admits being ‘in a little slump’
Lakers rookie guard Bronny James has been scrutinized heavily for his performance through the first three summer league games.
Much of which has centered on the dialogue around him being ready to play in the NBA next season. With that in mind, James voiced that he’s ready to take on any chance to improve.
“I’m just looking forward to any basketball I play, no matter what level I’m playing at,” James said via ESPN

In three summer league games, James has struggled offensively. So far he’s shot 23.1 percent from the field and missed all 12 of his 3-point attempts. He’s coming off scoring eight points on 3-of-14 shooting, including 0-for-8 from beyond the arc with three turnovers in the 99-80 loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday.
James started the game strong with six points that helped give the Lakers a 13-10 lead over the Rockets. However, he experienced scoring struggles the rest of the game.
“I just feel like I’m in a little slump right now,” James said.

Although James has struggled in summer league action, the Lakers haven’t expressed any concern but rather a commitment to help him continue to improve.
New head coach JJ Redick has been vocal about making the USC product a key part of their development program. The Lakers are locked in with James with a four-year, $7.9 million deal, making him a key piece to the puzzle for the foreseeable future as a result.
Much patience will need to be exercised as James progresses in his development.
