It appears to be only a matter of time before Kevin Durant signs on the dotted line to return to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Durant is being courted by many different teams, but outside of a pitch that blows him away, he isn’t going anywhere.

According to one of Durant’s closest friends, the one-time NBA MVP is basically sold on returning to the Thunder, via Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated:

“His decision is 90 percent made. It would take an amazing sales pitch to change it,” said one of Durant’s longtime friends.

Another Durant colleague said, “It’s going to take some sweet-talking to get him to pass up all the money he can get by staying in OKC.”

Heading into the offseason, all eyes were on Kevin Durant with his decision in free agency potentially marking a power shift in the NBA. Oklahoma City has been the frontrunner for his services all along with the Golden State Warriors somewhat of a threat to steal him away.

The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, and Los Angeles Clippers are all still in the mix for Durant. The perennial All-Star will do the rounds in meetings with the teams above, but in the end, Oklahoma City seems to have the inside trade.

As if the Thunder weren’t already heavy favorites, Oklahoma City appears to have a chance to acquire another one of the top free agents on the market in Al Horford. The Thunder brass seem to be trying to make the move to help secure Durant for at least one more season if not long-term.
