NBA Southwest Division Odds

The big game on the NBA agenda tonight is the one between the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers from Staples Center. The Spurs come into game with the NBA’s best record at 43-12. They are three games up on the Northwest Division leaders, the Oklahoma City Thunder for the top spot in the Western Conference. They lead the Pacific Division leading Clippers by 4.5 games. If the Clippers have eyes on getting the #1 seed in the West, they had better win this game tonight. The Spurs come into the game on a four game win streak while the Clippers have won four in a row also.

Intertops has the Spurs +3 1.91 and the Clippers -3 1.91.  We like the Spurs +3 in this one. Nobody takes the Spurs seriously but somehow they keep winning games.

They also have odds on teams winning the Western Conference. Let’s look at those odds:

The Spurs are 3.00. That is actually showing the Spurs a lot of respect considering the favored OKC Thunder is 2.40. The Clippers are next at 5.00.

The Memphis Grizzlies are 19.00. That is a bet worth taking. Memphis actually has a decent shot at this. A $100.00 bet would pocket you $1900.00 if they make it to the Finals. The grizzlies are in the fourth spot right now which means home court over the fifth seed, which right now is the Denver Nuggets. Then they would likely face the Spurs who they knocked out of the playoffs two years ago. That could happen again. That leaves them with one more series to win.

The Houston Rockets are 61.00. This might be worth risking a small wager. The Rockets have some young legs. Who knows? They could pull off a shocker.

The Dallas Mavericks are still on the board at 101.00. We would suggest betting on the Rockets before  the Mavs. At least the Rockets will be in the playoffs. It does not look like Dallas will make it. Even if they did manage to slip into the eighth position, they’ll be out in four games. But a $100.00 wager on them would win you 10,100.00.

The New Orleans Hornets are off the board altogether.
