Durant appeared to get tangled with Miami’s Trevor Ariza when he drove toward the basket for a layup in the first quarter. He left the game and was examined by a trainer before heading back to the Nets’ locker room.

Injuries have derailed Durant’s season after he was finally able to return following his recovery from a torn Achilles. He suffered the injury in the NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors. The superstar quickly returned to form once able to get on the floor for the first time for the Nets. However, the team has been extremely cautious in their approach with him.

There’s no telling whether this injury is severe enough for the team to continue their cautious approach with him. James Harden is also dealing with a hamstring injury. It has kept him out for a considerable amount of time. He could be in line to return right before the playoffs. Durant could be held out that long as well. Considering the Nets are in no danger of falling far in the standings, caution is the right approach.
