Nuggets interim HC David Adelman is confident about his team
Following the Denver Nuggets’ decision to part ways with longtime head coach Michael Malone, the focus has shifted toward the playoffs.
The Nuggets sit in a precarious position, still vying for the third overall spot in the Western Conference standings.
The sudden move off Malone has created some outside doubt around the Nuggets’ title contention chances ahead. Despite that, interim head coach David Adelman voiced strong confidence in his team.
“We are in the mix here, and I think people forget that,” Adelman said via ESPN. “[Pundits] keep thinking that we didn’t make the playoffs or whatever. We still have a great chance to do something special. We talked about that. The guys seemed convinced. So I’m expecting a really good effort.”
Adelman’s remarks came hours before the Nuggets’ road win over the Sacramento Kings.
The victory helps keep Denver in the fourth spot, maintaining their hold over the surging LA Clippers, who currently sit in the fifth position after beating the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.
Jokic led the charge to hold off the Kings behind his 32nd triple-double of the season with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Although it’s only one game, the Nuggets responded to the massive change. It’s not only the significance of the move, but the timing of it being a few days before the end of the regular season.
Denver’s focus remains singular on the task ahead with two games remaining against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday and Houston Rockets on Sunday.
