Phoenix Suns favored to win the NBA Finals as well as Game 1

The 2021 NBA Finals are finally set, with the Phoenix Suns set to take on the Milwaukee Bucks.

It’s a series that will feature two franchises with limited championship success as. The Suns, on their third attempt, have yet to win an NBA title. Meanwhile, the Bucks have one championship that they won in 1971. That was when Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a member of the team.

With all that in mind, the Las Vegas sportsbook has pinned the Suns as the slight favorites to secure the 2021 NBA title, according to ESPN.

The Suns opened at -175 at Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill, with the Bucks listed as +150 underdogs. Phoenix is a 5.5-point favorite over Milwaukee in Game 1 on Tuesday.

These are the opening odds to the series. Although it shows that Phoenix is viewed as the team in a better position to win an NBA title. The Suns moved through the Western Conference in impressive fashion to earn their first NBA Finals berth in 28 years.

Granted, Phoenix did benefit from teams struggling to move past the injury bug as the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, and Los Angeles Clippers each dealt with significant ailments to star talent.

Meanwhile, the Bucks will enter the NBA Finals a little wounded, with Giannis Antetokounmpo working his way back from a hyperextended knee. At this point, there is no clarity concerning whether Antetokounmpo will play in Game 1, but it was reported that he might have played in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals had there been one.

All in all, it all sets up what should be an entertaining matchup.
