Shaq thinks Clippers should trade Paul George to get ‘2 solid players’

The Los Angeles Clippers are coming off one of the worst playoff collapses for a legitimate title contender in NBA history. The team fell apart in the postseason and the fall guy seems to be Doc Rivers on the sideline and Paul George on the floor.With the Clippers now picking up the pieces and working toward the future, Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal thinks the franchise should cut their losses and trade George for two good players during the NBA offseason, via TMZ Sports.

“You gotta use [George] to get 2 good solid players because I need Kawhi to be the man. See Kawhi, I don’t want Kawhi to delegate,” Shaq says.

“See, when Kawhi was with Toronto he knew he was the man, everybody knew he was the man. Now you got one guy that thinks he’s the man, one guy that is the man.”

The Clippers have already parted ways with Rivers, who has accepted the head coach position with the Philadelphia 76ers. Rivers’ former assistant, Tyronn Lue, has accepted the job to be the new head coach in Los Angeles and will have his work cut out for him.

The next order of business will be the team’s roster and what moves need to be made. There’s been talk of breaking up that roster to build around Kawhi Leonard, but it’s uncertain whether George will be part of next season’s plans or long-term plans as he’s only under contract, if he opts in, for next season.
