Stephen Curry be will ‘Warrior for life’ says GM Mike Dunleavy Jr.
The Golden State Warriors have had an eventful offseason. Star guard Klay Thompson left in free agency, which raised questions about the franchise’s future. Much of that dialogue has shifted toward the future of star point guard Stephen Curry. The two-time league MVP has expressed his desire again to play the rest of his career with Golden State.
That is unsurprisingly the same sentiment the Warriors hold regarding their franchise cornerstone player.

“That guy can get whatever he wants,” Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy said in a news conference Friday via ESPN. “It’s been a sprint here getting through the draft and free agency and summer league, but all of that will get figured out. Steph, I think I can say pretty confidently, that he will be a Warrior for life.”
Stephen Curry is under contract through the 2025-26 season, which he is eligible to add another year to his contract this offseason. There hasn’t been any pressing pressure to extend his deal. The Warriors hold the option to keep the four-time champion under a longer deal.
With Thompson out of the picture, the Warriors will make a concerted effort to keep Curry around for the rest of his illustrious career.
The 36-year-old is still playing at an elite level after posting averaging 26.4 points and 5.1 assists while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 40.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Golden State is responsible for building the roster around Curry that will best put the franchise back into championship contention.
