Stephen Curry Reveals What Makes LeBron James Joining Warriors So Appealing

As LeBron James remains without a new NBA team, the Golden State Warriors are considered a likely potential destination for the four-time league MVP.

Much of which centers on the opportunity to play alongside Stephen Curry in Golden State. The Warriors’ star point guard addressed the situation by underscoring the appeal of playing alongside James next season.

“Up until probably two, three years ago, that was like a pipe-dream question or even a thought,” Curry said via ESPN. “But that’s part of the allure. Him going into his 24th season, me going into my 18th, the battles we’ve had, that would be such a unique story in NBA history, in sports history. But a little premature right now to talk about it.”

It’s no secret that Curry and James have developed a strong connection over the last several years. James has spoken highly of the two-time league MVP, including teaming up to guide 2024 Team USA to a gold medal.

The two reportedly spoke via text last week, while Draymond Green is vacationing with James in Puerto Rico and was spotted golfing with him on Thursday.

Although James possesses strong relationships with Curry and Green, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still viewed as the frontrunners to land the future first-ballot Hall of Famer. The allure of playing with the Warriors is there, but is it enough to pull James away from a homecoming with Cleveland, joining a team that has a chance to contend in the Eastern Conference.

It will all come down to whether James believes Golden State offers him a better chance to win, but if not, a Cavaliers return will likely be in the books.
