Suns newcomer Bradley Beal expected to miss three weeks
The Phoenix Suns star guard Bradley Beal suffered another setback after a bothersome lower back strain will force him to miss at least three weeks.
Beal already missing the team’s first seven games due to the injury and played in three straight games before the ailment flared up again.
In those three games, he averaged 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. The Suns haven’t been able to put on the floor their three stars together for an extended stretch.
Phoenix has also been without fellow star guard Devin Booker for much of the 2023-24 campaign as he’s played in just four games, averaging 29.5 points, 10.3 assists, and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor and 48.0 percent from beyond the arc.
Booker has excelled in his limited action, posting 20 or more points in all four games, including a pair of double-doubles. He’s coming off recording 24 points and 15 assists in Friday’s win over the Utah Jazz.
Kevin Durant hasn’t missed a game, where he ranks second in the league at 30.8 points with 7.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists while shooting 52.9 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from 3-point range.

Durant has notched 30 or more points on seven occasions, including four times in the last six games. The Suns hold at a 6-6 record through the first 12 games, sitting in the ninth spot in the Western Conference standings.
The Suns will lean on Durant and Booker to lead the charge while Beal is on the mend.
