Suns owner Robert Sarver says he’s ‘100 percent all-in’ on keeping team in Phoenix

In the last few days, there have been rumblings around the league that Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver could have an interest in moving the team.

This chatter stems from the uncertainty surrounding a proposed renovation of their current arena. In response to that, Sarve has posted a video where he has voiced that he is completely committed to keeping the Suns in Phoenix, via ESPN.

“I am 100 percent all-in in keeping this team right here where we stand,” Sarver said. “And I want to make sure that message comes across crystal clear to every one of you.”

These new comments from Sarver came shortly after it was reported by The Arizona Republic that he had told a council member that he would move the team to either Seattle or Las Vegas if the arena deal doesn’t get completed.

It also came a day after a Phoenix City Council vote to approve the $230 million in renovations was moved back until January. This dialogue has created a strong backlash from the fan base concerning this new development in the matter.

This has become a complicated issue as the Suns are looking to generate funding for renovations through the city. This pushed this situation into even more contentious territory as this could prove to be difficult for that proposal to pass. It also doesn’t help that the team has had much success over the last several years.

There should be much more to unfold on this matter in the coming weeks as it all gets sorted out.
