Warriors are unsurprisingly the favorites to win it all this season

The start of the 2018-19 season has finally been reached on Tuesday, which has set the table for another highly entertaining campaign.

According to David Purdum of ESPN, the Golden State Warriors have opened up as the odds-on favorite to win the NBA title for the third straight year.

The Warriors start the season as odds-on title favorites, listed at -200 at multiple sportsbooks. No other franchise in the past 30 years has been an odds-on favorite to win the championship in the preseason, according to betting data archive Sportsoddshistory.com. Golden State has done it three years in a row.

The Warriors have constructed an extremely talented roster both through the draft and free agency over the last several seasons. Granted, Cousins is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon he has a chance to add yet another huge element to the puzzle for the franchise.

Golden State is returning much of the same team with some changes to the roster but with their core group intact once again. There are some other intriguing teams in the league such as the Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, and Los Angeles Lakers that could factor into the equation.

There is much that could change as the season progresses along, but the Warriors look to be in the driver’s seat to claim their third straight NBA title.
