Warriors’ Kristaps Porzingis Breaks Silence on Ongoing Health Concerns

As the 2025-26 season begins in days, the Golden State Warriors will remain without big man Kristaps Porzingis indefinitely.

Porzingis is dealing with a private health issue that has kept him out of action since before training camp and throughout the preseason.

The 31-year-old took to social media to address the matter, laying out the steps he’s taking.

“I’m working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health [as soon as possible],” Porzingis said on social media. “Honestly, I’m getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I’ll be feeling great again soon.”

Although he remains out of action, he’s expected to be in the team practice facility and around the team ahead of the season opener on Wednesday, Oct. 21 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors have exercised plenty of patience with the process, allowing Porzingis to work through the matter to get back on the court.

“It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can’t exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career,” Porzingis wrote in an X post. “So it has added up for sure, but we will get through it.”

Porzingis’ absence leaves a significant void in the frontcourt, as his unique skill set, with his rim protection and offensive prowess that stretches beyond the arc, makes him an invaluable asset when healthy.
