Zion Williamson is the clear-cut favorite to be drafted No. 1 overall
Throughout the 2018-19 season, standout Duke freshman forward Zion Williamson has continued to impress with his play on the court.
This has seemingly elevated the expectations that he will be NBA bound following his first year with the school. In light of that, there has been a growing belief that he will be the consensus No.1 overall pick that has seemingly seen him become the clear-cut betting favorite to be taken in that spot on come June if he chooses to make the leap to the next level, according to ESPN.

DraftKings opened odds on the player to be picked first in the 2019 draft this past week, with Williamson as the overwhelming favorite at -2000 odds (a $20 bet would win $1).
He is playing alongside guard RJ Barrett, who himself has earned much recognition for his promising play on the court. However, it has continued to see Williamson being regarded as the top overall prospect in this year’s draft.
He’s quickly proven to be a highly promising player that has a unique combination of strength, athleticism, and scoring prowess. Such a combination of traits could translate to stardom at the next level. There is a clear separation in physical ability from him from the rest of the talent at the collegiate level.

Zion Williamson may not have yet made a decision to go to the NBA after this season, but things are shaping up for him to be the top choice. These next several weeks could be his chance to further solidify that status as the No. 1 overall selection while potentially helping lead Duke to a National Championship.
