SEC Showdown Saturday: Tide Takes on Aggies

Can't afford a ticket? I know someone who can probably spot you.

Today, the Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the one team who beat them a year ago, the Texas A&M Aggies. It was last year’s win over the Tide that really catapulted Johnny Manziel into superstar status. He made one great play after another in Bryant-Denny Stadium and if truth be told, likely won the Heisman Trophy that day. Today he will be given the opportunity to do it again in College Station.

Neither team has lost a game since last year’s meeting. Alabama went on to win their third national championship in four years ans A&M went on to rout the Oklahoma Sooners in the Cotton Bowl and claim the Heisman. Today’s winner starts off the SEC season 1-0 and gets past one of the major hurdles between themselves and a date in Atlanta for the SEC Championship.

Betonline has the Tide -8.5 -110 and the Aggies +8.5 -110 ATS. Moneyline is Alabama -325 and Texas A&M +270. Over/Under is 61 with both -110. Alabama is a college football dynasty. But on the road giving 8.5 to a team as good as Texas A&M, that seems a bit much. Say what you want about Johnny Football and his antics and off-field behavior, but one thing that cannot be denied is he comes up big in the big games. We are going to go with A&M +8.5 and the over -110.

In the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Auburn Tigers game, the Bulldogs are +6.5 -110 and the Tigers -6.5 -110 ATS. Moneyline has the Bulldogs +200 and the Tigers -240. Over/Under is 50.5 with both -110. The Tigers have looked much better since new coach Gus Mahlzahn has taken over. State coach Dan Mullen sure could use a win as his seat is beginning to warm in Starkville. We are going to go with the Tigers -6.5 and the under -110.

The Vanderbilt Commodores will visit the South Carolina Gamecocks today in a big SEC East game. The loser of this game is probably out of contention ans this will be their second conference loss. Vanderbilt has a habit of giving the Gamecocks a tough time. Sometimes they even manage to pull off an upset. Vandy is +14 -110 and South Carolina is -14 -110 ATS. Moneyline is Vanderbilt +415 and South Carolina -510. We are going to go with Vandy +14 and would also recommend putting a small wager on Vandy +415. Over/Under is 49 with both -110. We are going with the under -110.

The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles will try to halt a long losing streak when  they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks. This USM skid seemingly came out of nowhere and has been tough to explain. The Eagles have had a winning program for a long time and were coming off a C-USA Championship when it all came crashing down a year ago with an 0-12 record following a Hawaii Bowl win in 2011. The streak has now reached 24 in a row and the Eagles are +23 -105. The Hogs are -23 -115 ATS. Moneyline has the Eagles +1100 and the Hogs -1600. Over/Under is 49.5 with both -110. We like the Eagles +23 and the under -110.
