NCAAB: Iowa @ Indiana Preview
This game was rescheduled from last week due to a hunk of metal that damaged the seats in Indiana. Â From Iowa‘s perspective, this gives them the best chances to put a quick end to their first losing streak of the season.
The No. 20 Hawkeyes may be in the top 25, but they are in the middle of the pack in the Big 10 and have recently suffered losses to both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Iowa lost 79-74 to the Badgers after getting a week off due to the postponement of this game. Â Minnesota then blew past them 95-89. Â The losses can mostly be placed on the shoulder of the Hawkeyes defense who was giving both teams open looks all night. Â Another loss could easily be in their future if they have not remedied this situation.
Iowa allowed Minnesota to shoot over 50 percent from behind the arc, it was the first time this season a team shot from three-point range against the Hawkeyes.  Â
To further illistrate that it is Iowa’s defense that is lacking: Roy Devyn Marble put up 24 points in his last outing. Â The Hawkeyes are also scoring 78.6 points a game when playing Big 10 teams, the best stat in the conference. Â Â Â
Indiana are not really playing for much as far as post season goes. Â Any hopes of a national tournament run has been dashed as they have only won four of their last five making getting back into the top 25 an impossible upward struggle.Â
However, Indiana is not going to just lay down for the Hawkeyes, as they will be playing for glory and the ability to play spoiler.
Iowa are the -4.5 favorites to win this game. Â The game starts at 9 p.m. ET and you can watch it on ESPN.
