Nets @ Wizards Preview
While the sports world’s eye are on another set of basketball games, the NBA is still offering up some interesting match-ups today, one of which is a battle between two No.2 teams, the Brooklyn Nets and the Washington Wizards.
The Nets are currently surging. Â Brooklyn is on a three-game win streak. Â One of those win was against the two-time defending NBA champs, the Miami Heat. They have are 8-2 on their last ten. Â They have been playing top notch defense allowing only 91.6 points per game. Â They are in fifth in the Eastern Conference. They are only slightly above the Wizards, however as far as win percentage goes.
The Nets have yet to beat the Wizards this season. Â They have faced off three previous times and tonight will wrap up the season series.
The Wizards offense got big production from Bradley Beal the last time they first time they faced the Nets. He logged 29 points. Â John Wall also put up 21 points in that game.
The difference now is that the nets are playing outstanding defense, as shown by their points allowed per game.
The Wizards let the Orlando Magic take them into overtime in their last game on Friday. Â They would wind up winning 105-101. Â Before that they had lost two in a row.
Unfortunately, for the Wizards Beal left the Orlando game with a sprained ankle and is questionable for this game. Â His absence is going to be felt big time as he was averaging over 20 points a game.
The Nets are favored to win this game with a -3 point spread. The game starts at 7 p.m. ET and you can watch it on NBA’s Live Play
